Lottery for the week ending 9th October 2016

Last week the letters got some love! But I had a call from Punctuation, and they said they feel totally left out (despite the fact they get way more attention with emojis than they ever got in English classes).

So this week, I want you to enter the lottery with your favourite punctuation! (Is there such a thing?) I personally like """"""""", especially when you got a curly font like """""" or """"""""

P.S. I have no idea what they will look like till I post, and I bemoan a lack of fancy fonts to use :-(

I have always been a fan of either dramatic or thoughtful pauses. So I end a lot of sentences with...

I'm like Don, I use ... a lot when I'm conversing via the keyboard.

I like the semi-colon because it doesn't get much love; it rarely get used anymore.

My in-game name is John T Chance most of the time.

Seriously ... you guys are both picking the same ???????? I like the ???? better as I tend to ask too many ? Ha Ha so I select the big old Question Mark.

My favorite punctuation, unfortunately, has already been used by two people. I think my second favorite is the Em Dash (—). I rarely use it, since I have to go into the Character Map program just to copy and paste it, but it's very useful.

it is the best when you use it to text a boyfriend, fiance or a husband with a question what?!

where you are not sure that they are asking you the question, and you want them to consider the answer.

Favourite punctuation eh? Hmmmm.

Well several years ago, before I got into a serious relationship with a Plum, I had an on again/off again relationship with a couple of " ". The only problem was that they wouldn't stop talking. I like my peace and quiet so I brought that relationship to a . This caused a real drama and with great ! they both wailed "Why? Why? Why?" I was punched so hard that I fell hard onto my butt, hurting my : and this is why I now prefer fruit to punctuation.

The editor in me loves this topic, so I guess I picked the right week to remember to do lottery again.

Anyway, it may seem like the boring answer, but I have to go with the comma. They are essential to good writing, but so many people don't know how to use them properly. And so I feel pretty good about the fact that I mostly understand them.

I thought about picking the en-dash because it's so ignored, but in truth that's one I'm still not sure I'd use correctly 100% of the time, so I passed on it.

I'm gonna say i love the suprised caught off guard what!? punctuations, as it happens when someone pops up an out of left field comment or subject matter. And that happens quite often here in ankh. I think they are second only to O.o or O.O.
