Vacation countdown!

Hey guildies! Valen and I just booked our vacation to Portland, OR! In preparation of our trip, I was wondering if anyone has any advice for us. Valen has traveled a few time before and I've mostly only done cruises, so this is really my first time taking a vacation within the U.S. Has anyone visited or lived in Portland? If so, what were the best things to do/places to eat? What should we know before visiting the west coast for the first time? If I think of more questions I'll post here! We will be traveling the beginning of September if that helps!

I have played oregon trail before.... but sitting by a campfire eating baked beans is not exactly 5 star......

Will and I live in washington state... I've only been to Oregon a few times but there is lots to see.
I would recommend
crater lake national park
Mt hood
portland (awesome city lots to do)
the coast... there are soo many great beaches!
Oregon redwoods (or drive down to CA and see the famous redwoods NP)

Depends on the week. Will sometimes goes for the entire week up to Olympic national forest for his job, but other wise i think so..
