Breast Cancer Awareness Month Lottery

Okay as you know October is upon us and as well as being the month of Halloween, it is also set aside for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so i am having a special kick off for the month.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 200,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed each year in the US, making it three times more common than other gynecological cancers.

Breast cancer will claim the lives of 40,000 people this year.

What is really disturbing is the speed at which breast cancer rates have risen over the past 5 decades. In 1960, one in twenty women were diagnosed—but today, it is one in seven.

So just like Lisa's lottery the rules will be simple.

The Lotto will occur Oct 5th right after the regular Ankh lotto and be announced in chat!

And just to let everyone know so you don't think I've gone crazy, Kitt Pendragon, my warrior will be sporting hot pink trim on his armor in honor of breast cancer awareness the whole month of October.

For the moment the prize is 60 gold, a pink dye, and a hot pink dye, and 3 exotics, if any other donations are made they will be added. In the event the prize becomes awesomely huge, i may adjust to 2 or 3 winners, but for now just one. Good luck everyone.

Great idea Kitt.

I like it because it makes me think about my grandma, she was Diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer about 4 years ago. She underwent 2 surgery, chemo, and radiation. She has been cancer free for i think 2 and a half years now or maybe 3 years (i'm not great on dates), so she has not made it to the 5 year mark yet and has had a scare that turned out to be benign. She handled it well, she stayed in good spirits and she's tough. <3

Warrior Skye here, and I will take #55. I will also have a look for something to donate to the prize, I will msg you Kitt when I am in the game and see what I have. I think I have a pink dye and if I do will be wearing it for sure to show my support. Hopefully there will come a day when cancer will be a thing of the past, many people have battled this dreaded disease and lost. I am one of the lucky ones, I will soon reach the 3 year mark since my last treatment.
