The Super Awesome Haiku / Limerick Contest CLOSED

What the Smurf is going on here? There's no contest? Well we simply must fix that! I'm going to hi-jack Will's idea for a contest and make it my own muwahaha

This shall be an Ankhie poetry contest. Now before you start whining that you can't write a poem, this one shall be easy. Here are the rules:

1. You must reply to this thread and post a poem in one of two formats. The poem must be either a Haiku (standard 5-7-5 format) or a limerick. Those are the ONLY two formats that will be accepted.

2. The poem has to be Guild Wars 2 related, either about the game itself or about one (or more) of our guildies.

3. The poems (especially the limericks) have to conform to the Guild Chat rule of being PG/PG-13 rated (in other words, no vulgarity or X-Rated stuff - keep 'em clean folks).

4. You may only enter one poem into the contest. If you write a better one and want to enter it, make sure you tell us which one you want judged.

5. All entries must be posted by 6pm eastern time (3pm server time) on Sunday, October 27th, 2013.

6. Judges for this contest will be the Guild Leaders, Strix, Will & myself. Bribes will be accepted but remember, we ain't cheap!

The prize for best poem will be a gem code redeemable for 1200 gems in the game. There may also be 2nd & 3rd places prizes depending on how many people enter and how much you make us laugh.

Awesome first attempt at a haiku Kitt... and since you were the first response, I'm going to give you a mulligan.. the way it works is the first sentence must have 5 syllables, the second sentence has 7, and the last sentence has 5. Yours is 4-10-7... I'll modify yours slightly to show you:

An awesome great love (5)
Tortures innocent Myron (7)
Is Strixy's ally (5)

It takes a bit to get the hang of it but once you figure out the pattern, haiku is loads of fun! You get to enter another

A guardian bored,
Many foes lie charred from flame,
Oh look, a rabbit!

Myron is a moron,
he has not slept all week ,
and now he wants
all his friends
to troll him till he freaks.

Nope, you gotta enter Jason. No one is guaranteed to win (although I agree, Neil's was awesome) and besides, there very well may be a 2nd or 3rd place prize. So get to writing!

Yes, yes, I know I'm a judge, so this one does not count. However, I couldn't let this opportunity pass. So, here's my limerick!

Ankh is a guild for the ages.
The Bacon-Tofu war rages!
Sisters of Night
taunt Brothers of Light,
beware the Strixzilla rampages!!!

After reading these entries, we've made a slight modification to the prize awards. Honestly, these should have been 2 separate contests. So we have picked a 1st place limerick and a 1st place haiku. Both winners will receive a code for 1200 gems (just give me a day to get another card).

1st place limerick goes to Neil. That was awesome!

1st place haiku goes to Shana. Well written!

We also decided to declare 2nd place in each category too. The 2nd place award will be 5g each.

2nd place limerick was a HUGE fight with us trying to decide. Nasty words were used, threats were made, and in the end (after band aids were applied to wounds) we declared it to be a tie. The 2nd place winners (both will receive 5g) are Bree Elle and Lisa.

2nd place haiku goes to Jason.
