| I hi-jacked the lottery this week! Hopefully Strixy won't beat me up for doing it but she's going to be gone for Thanksgiving so she probably won't even notice...
Let's see, that means I have to come up with prizes. Hmmm, how about I give away:
1st Place - You'll win 20 gold! 2nd Place - You'll get 10 gold. 3rd Place - You'll get... ummm, something. I'm sure some piece of junk will drop for me in the game that I don't want... err, I mean some valuable treasure will surely drop that I can give to the 3rd place winner!
OK, we're not gonna do the same ol', same ol', tell us what you're thankful for to enter. *rolls eyes* We get that stuff everywhere we turn. Nope, instead, we're gonna talk about food!
Of course, it's traditional here in the US to feast on a big fat turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, I know, some people eat other things, like fake tofurkeys and stuff, but I'm going with the turkey. I hear that turkey is the traditional meal in Canada too, although they celebrate Thanksgiving in October. Fell told me the reason Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October is so they get the young tender turkeys and then ship the tough, old, stringy ones to the US in November. As for Australia, I'm not sure... Plum? Scott? Do y'all celebrate Thanksgiving? If so, what do y'all feast on?
Sorry, I got sidetracked... anyway, some of us have noticed that there are no turkeys in Tyria so that got us wondering, what do Tyrians feast on for Thanksgiving? Do Charr roast a Quaggon for Thanksgiving? Do Asurans grill a Skritt? What do Sylvari eat, a big ol' salad?
So to enter the lottery, reply to this and pick any of the Tyrian player races and tell us what you think their traditional Thanksgiving feast consists of. Also remember to leave your character or account name so I know who to send your prize to if you win.
Entries will be accepted until 6pm EST on Sunday, Nov 29, 2015 so I can draw the winners before guild missions.
I hope everyone has a great week and if you're celebrating Thanksgiving this week then I wish you and your family a great one.

I'm thinking that most of the playable races would have a moa instead of a turkey for Thanksgiving. The rest of the traditional meal would probably be the same as the one in the United States, except the cranberry sauce would be omnomberry sauce.

| Well, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving here in Oz and it's too dang hot this time of year to bother with a 5 hour roast, heating up the house. Plus we don't have ovens big enough for Emu....or Tofemu (for the vegos in the audience). More recent generations have substituted the big meals for salads, cold meats, seafood etc...YU-UMM!! I reckon that Norn or Charr, culturally are the races to turn to for a great feast of meaty proportions, they also love the ale/beer and you know they just KNOW how to PARRTY....they bring the whole package. Please just send the wining prize to Needa Medic | |

| I don't think Tyria would celebrate Thanksgiving, since it's a USA thing - in fact, I doubt they would have even heard of our earthen countries and celebrations. I think they would have their own unique celebrations - like Dragon Bash, where they would have sweet potato and Shatterer tail soup, followed by roasted Tequatl foot, with baked lotus root cooked over an ancient wood log and a lovely dessert of mascarpone chocolate zhaitan eyes and loads and loads of Norn ale! mmmmmmm

| Ithy here!
Like Plum, I don't imagine Tyrians would celebrate it. But the Charr do celebrate Meatoberfest, which may be similar enough. To my knowledge, a Charr feast would include generous quantities of Meat on a Stick and ale. In the words of a reliable source on the topic, Roj the Rowdy Butcher:
"I'm delirious, I'm deserving, I'm desiring delicious meat. Doot doot dee-deet. Yeah, meat. Meat! Uh huh. Singing about meat. Oh, yeah."
