| Hey all,
I am trying to brainstorm some ideas to make an official day where we can get together and get guildies through some of the dungeons that they might need. I am thinking either starting either early Saturday or Sunday of every other week. I aiming towards Saturday but ultimately, it doesn't matter. We can start like probably at around 12pm CDT and run them until the next guild event. Let me know what is best for everyone that is interested.
Unlike other guild events, I can only take 4 other people at a time and one of them is gonna be someone else who is experienced. We will start out slowly like that until we are confident enough to split into 2 groups to be able to take more guildies.
Due to time constraints and depending on the number of people who would want to do this, I am gonna be suggesting some requirements, so we can maximize our time.
1.) Vent is a must, you don't have to talk but you have to be able to listen. 2.) Some proper gear... wearing all greens is borderline acceptable, but if you are wearing whites or blues, then I will do my best to get you some gear improvements. 3.) If you're low level traits don't matter as much, but if you are higher level (i.e. 80), then proper trait placement is to be expected. 4.) Need to be at least the dungeon's level requirement. I will not take a lvl 25 in AC exp... 5.) Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!, This is not a 25 man heroic WoW raid.....so no pressure on anything.
Any ideas and or suggestions highly welcome!.. This is just a rough draft.

| Ooh, great idea! There's a lot of people who want to do dungeons but don't know when other interested parties will be on; a localized time will be great! Brainstormings follow.
The weekend idea works pretty well if it can be scheduled around other events. I'm most free on Sundays but could join in on Saturdays as well. Also, if there's a want for it, my Thursdays are usually wide open and maybe we can set up something for that night as well? If people are interested, of course.
One group and then splitting sounds like a good idea. It'll probably be best to do that as the event 'ramps up' and more people become more interested. That being said if we end up completely full and have someone else who wants to come, sticking to the 2 experienced players (you and someone you choose) and 3 learning players would help to maintain the spirit of the event. It wouldn't be a good training exercise if only experienced players are taken. As more people learn and become comfortable with the dungeons, splitting into two or more groups becomes more viable. It sounds like you have the right idea here Betty!
Yes. Vent please! It would be nice to ensure your dungeon rooms are not 'interrupted' though; nothing is more frustrating than to be explaining an encounter to have some people pop in and start an unrelated discussion. But, as long as everyone is respectful of the need to communicate, Vent will be the best option.
If anyone is curious about gear or traits I just -love- talking about them. Ask before the event actually starts though, maybe even a day in advance; if we need to help someone upgrade gear or create a suitable build, that can be time-consuming, and should be handled pre-event instead of as the dungeons are starting.
Yeah, the level req is a must. And yes, have fun! That's the most important bit. ;-D
I like your idea; it reads like you have the details covered and this could be a lot of fun to do regularly. I'm all for it.

| That makes good sense. =D
I'll try to make room on Saturdays and Sundays to join in with everyone. I have the days free and just have a kid running around, so it should be doable. =D

That said, the fact that it's earlier means I should be able to show up if it goes late enough into the afternoon. (like 3ish central)

Ask Betty or myself in guild chat, or send us a message if you can't catch us on, and we'll be happy to share what we know. At least 1 day in advance is prefered, so we can share our information and give you a chance to ask questions and clarify. If there's enough requests for a certain type of build, or for very in-depth information, we can start creating forum posts that explain our builds in detail. For an example, check out Betty's Thief dungeon build, in the Builds forum; we can do more posts like that as people want them.

| Proper trait placement? I understand that you should maximize the time you have available, but if you're gonna try and jack with someones build/trait setup and have them run something they've never run before, you're gonna waste more time. (Just my own personal opinion) | |

| well sounds like a good idea but I don't think there is a real need for gear req and I agree with Jason about making peeps run unfamiliar builds that can be a huge problem for some peeps. I do think you really need 2-3 per group that must be familiar with the dungeons and they should probly be run legit XD. and vent is a huge plus to team play. | |

| I am also interested. Didn't get to see the dungeons very much before taking a hiatus and thieves were not very well liked in PUG groups back then. More than willing to try different traits and even read some of the guides if the dungeon is decided ahead of time. EDT time zone, I'm good for Friday nights and Saturday nights. More availability as winter ensues.

| @ Jason and Drifter,
I think i need to rephrase that this is intended for new players and people who have a hard time find dungeon groups.. I am sure you are both capable of acquiring your own trait and builds. No one is going to "jack up" your precious builds, Jason. I am here to help new members through.. Some people don't even know what to do with traits..Hell I played for months without traiting in the beginning and I'm not ashamed to admit that... I also believe 2 vet players starting out is crucial to teaching new players and to restate my OP, as time progress, we can have 1 vet player per party so that way, things will speed up. Also while gear is not as prudent, I believe is handy for someone to at least have decent gear...it helps with overall group performance.
I am here to help new members with dungeons and I enjoy doing it, not wasting my time at all, enjoying what I do.

| Awesome idea Betty! And thank you for offering to lead and teach guildies how to do these dungeons and help them with their gear & builds. This is a great idea and something that has been needed in Ankh for a long time. We have a lot of guildies that have asked about dungeons and I think this will be a huge asset to the guild.
Any other officer who would care to step up and teach guildies these skills is more than welcome to. All it takes is a forum post...

| I think Saturday the 13th @ 11 CDT is good a day to start. Then we can do another one on the 27th. We'll see how this goes, then we can figure out the issues. | |

| I'm not concerned about my "precious" (they're anything but) builds, I just didn't realize you were talking about new players who might not know what to really play and can adapt relatively easy. My fear was you were gonna ask those who became really familiar with their play style/build and make them change that. Thank you for going into depth. | |

| I love running dungeons but don't because I don't do them often enough to remember the paths. I am "familiar" with a lot of paths, but would love to run them more as I would really like to learn them properly. So I would join if it's at a time I can be on :-)

| Tomorrow is here and the first run went well. Thank you Betty, Shana and Stitch for putting up with me. I am know I m less than mediocre so I appreciate the opportunity to improve. I've tended to refrain from doing dungeons because I don't want to mess it up for the other players. Suggestions regarding build, what do do or not to do are welcome. It was a lot of fun to do all the AC paths with my ranger. It was fun and I got some needed $$$. Definitely interested in doing this again. ~Mali | |
